| Most | Group or private skating instruction. | Beginner | Varies | These are usually oriented towards the figure skater or recreational skater. Look for an instructor who is proficient, and capable of developing a hockey player rather than a figure skater. Keith Tindall at Ice Line is a good choice. |

Most Ice Rinks can guide you in the selection of courses or advise on the availability of private instruction. When taken in context, private lessons by a skilled instructor can sometimes be more cost effective and productive than a school or clinic.
Schools and clinics often do not provide enough time for a student to become proficient in what they have learned. Open hockey and public skating can provide the ice time needed to practice what has been taught.
Also, USA Hockey, The Atlantic District of USA Hockey, and The Mid Atlantic Women's Hockey Association offer: USA Hockey National Development Camps, USA Hockey Jr. Olympic Hockey Festivals, Select 34 Camp, Select 14 or Under Camp, and National camps. Contact them directly for information.
