Warning:  New York and other Mid-Atlantic and New England States utilizes Speed Traps that often shoot Radar or Laser off overpasses, from disabled vehicles, road maintenance vehicles and police cars on the shoulders or exit ramps.  They also shoot Radar or Laser at you from behind.  Drive accordingly.
     Since September 11, 2001... Bridges and Tunnels around NYC are subject to closure.  Police may stop you and ask to look in your vehicle.  Follow police direction and cooperate!   WATCH ROAD ANNOUNCEMENT SIGNS! 
     On 9/5/04, Where I-89 S joined I-91 S, in VT, INS had a roadblock and were looking at every vehicle (a 10 minute delay)... and where I-95 S entered NY, every truck was being stopped and examined (which caused a 45 minute delay.  These surprise checkpoints were right on the highway.  Plan your travel accordingly!
     The Interstates in and around NYC are made up of segments of various Expressways (not necessarily the entire Expressway).  Each Expressway will very likely have it's own exit number sequence, that may not be in numerical order.  So when you pass exit 5 and 12, and exit 9 is still ahead, you'll understand it's a NY thing.
      Hand Held Cell Phone use by the driver is illegal in many states.

Notice:  Like any driving directions/map you should always do a reality check and make sure the roads still exist, watch out for construction, and follow all traffic safety precautions. These directions are only to be used as an aid in planning.
