Girl's Ice Hockey - Driving Directions

(NOTE: like any driving directions/map you should always do a reality check and make sure the roads still exist, watch out for construction, and follow all traffic safety precautions. This is only to be used as an aid in planning.)

Take Exit 31 (Groton/Littleton Common) off of Route 495 onto Route 119 west. Immediately after the Mobil station on your left, turn left onto Old Ayer Road. At the vase of the slope (200 yards), take a right onto Peabody Street. Go left on Farmers Row and take the first gate on the right into the school.

To Upper School Campus: Storrow Drive, Memorial Drive, Greenough Blvd. And Fresh Pond Parkway all lead to the Upper School. The school is located adjacent to the Charles River, between Exits 17 and 18 off of Route 90.

Suggested route to Upper Campus: Take Exit 17 off of Route 90 (Turnpike extension), travel over the Charles River. Turn left onto Memorial Drive and continue straight ahead to the Upper School Campus (approximately two miles).

Buckingham Field: On Fresh Pond Parkway opposite the Cambridge reservoir between Huron Avenue and Poplar Road.

Lower School Gym: 10 Buckingham Street between Craigie Street and Concord Avenue.

From Boston: Take Route 93 north to Route 125 toward North Andover. Follow Route 125 for 10.4 miles to Route 133. Turn right onto Route 133 and drive along the lake. Main gate of the school is 1.4 miles up on the right.

From North: Take Route 93 south to Route 213 to Route 495 south. Take Merrimack Street/Sutton Street Exit off Route 495. Turn left off the Exit and follow Sutton Street to Route 125 and then turn onto Route 133 along the lake. Main gate is 1.4 miles up on the right.

From the south: Take U.S. Route 1 north 33 miles from Boston. Three miles beyond the intersection of Route 1 and 133, at the second blinking yellow light, is the entrance to Governor Dummer Academy, marked by a sign on the left.

From the north: Take Interstate 95 south to Exit 55, Central Street, Byfield. Follow the red Governor Dummer Academy signs bearing left off the ramp, over the highway and onto a winding country road. Bear right at the intersection of Orchard Street and School Street and drive over a small bridge. Follow School Street to the stop sign at Elm Street. Turn left and travel another mile to campus entrance on your left.

Follow Interstate 495 (north or south) to the Groton-Littleton Common Exit 31. Follow Route 119 west for 6.7 miles. Lawrence Academy is on your right just before the intersection of Route 40 and the center of Groton.

From Route I-95 North/ Route 128: Take Exit 29B, Route 2 West.
Before Concord, Route 2 takes a 90-degree turn to the left at a set of
lights and Mobil Station. Go straight through the intersection toward
Concord Center. Bear left at Stop sign and go into Monument
Square - drive toward Colonial Inn. At Inn, take a left and a right
around the Inn. The school is on Lowell Road about 2.5 miles on the
right. Take 2nd entrance to school and park next to hockey rink.

From Boston: Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) west to Route 128/95; Route 128/95 north to Route 2 west Exit 29B (Acton/Fitchburg) to second stop light; straight through light and follow sign to Concord center; proceed straight to the Colonial Inn; take quick left and then quick right around Inn into Lowell Road; school gate approximately 2.7 miles on right.

From T. F. Green Airport in Providence, RI: When exiting airport follow signs for Route 95 north. Proceed on Route 95 north to Route 2 west Exit 29B; continue with directions above.

From New York and the West: Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) east to Route 290 northeast to Route 495 north to Route 2; Route 2 east to rotary; third exit off rotary (Carlisle) onto Barrett's Mill Road and follow to blinking red light (Lowell Road); left on Lowell Road; school gate is approximately 1 mile on right.

For girls’ athletic facilities: Fields are located four miles down on left side of the street.

For boys’ athletic facilities: At Randolph Avenue, go through the lights, take a right through fence at about 400 yards, onto campus.

Take Route 128 to Exit 18 – Great Plain Avenue. Follow sign towards West Roxbury at end of Exit. Go approximately ½ mile to fork in road (St. Suzannah’s Church on right). Bear right at fork, go approximately 3/8 mile to school entrance on right.

Route 2 west to 495 south to Route 9 east toward Framingham. Go 1-1/2 Miles to Route 85. Take Route 85 north for 1 mile to set of lights. The school is on the right.Park behind the gymnasium.

Interstate 93 (north or south) to Interstate 89 north. Exit 2 (Clinton Street) turn left at end of ramp. Turn right at blinking light onto Silk Farm Road. Turn right at stop sign onto school grounds.

Ice Rink – take first left after stop sign, right and first left again to parking lot.

From Route 128 – Route 3 south – Union Street (Exit 17): Bear right at bottom of ramp, up Union Street; turn right at second traffic light (Washington Street); first left onto Hobart Avenue. Parking lot on left.
